I am an ER doctor and am comfortable offering treatment to all ages (pediatrics to geriatrics), all genders including non-binary individuals, and pregnant persons.

I’m able to prescribe most medications but there are a few important exceptions:

  1. No Controlled Substances – it is illegal on telemedicine to prescribe controlled substances such as benzodiazepines (e.g. Xanax) and opioids (e.g. Norco).
  2. No sleeping medications for insomnia such as Ambien or Trazodone. We can talk about sleep hygiene and discuss how to use over the counter sleeping medications, but I cannot prescribe prescription sleeping medications.
  3. New Psychiatric medications – I generally will not initiate a new psychiatric medication which includes SSRIs such as Prozac, SNRIs, buspirone, bupropion, “mood stabilizers” such as lithium or Depakote, antipsychotics, and tricyclic antidepressants. If you are currently taking these medications and simply need a refill, you must provide proof of your previous prescription before I refill your prescription.
  4. Neuropathic Pain Medications such gabapentin: I generally will not initiate new neuropathic pain medications. If you are currently taking these medications and simply need a refill, you must provide proof of your previous prescription before I refill your prescription
